Disconnected Pitch Aftermath

Myself, Emma-Louise and Katya formed a group to promote the short film “Disconnected” on social media for our client Solent TV as part of a unit this semester. We had to pitch our idea/social media strategy to Tony, the head of Solent TV. We had really positive feedback from the pitch and they were happy for us to move forward with our plans. A couple of days before we had planned to post on Solent TV we were told that we couldn’t post on Solent TV’s social media just yet as they were negotiating if our class could post directly on their social media accounts or not. To tackle this problem we set up our own social media accounts to promote the film. I found this quite stressful as it was very last mintue and we hadn’t planned a strategy for creating a social media account. In the end we made an instagram, Twitter and Facebook account as official accounts to promote the short film. Each account had the same layout and content to keep it coherent. We made it look reflective of the film, straight to the point and clean. We decided that we would manage a social media platform each. I took Twitter, Emma-Louise took Instagram and Katya took facebook. Twitter is one of my most used apps and out of the three of us I use it the most so I felt really comfortable managing this account. I’m happy with the decisions we made and I feel that we made the best of an inconvenience.
