With only one week left until our pitch, I have tried to narrow down my idea even more. I’m still basing my images off of the book “Looking for Alaska”, but now I will be focusing on just the character Alaska rather than all character and stand out parts of the book. I’m thinking of calling the series “Looking through Alaska”, playing on the title of the book. The series would be looking into Alaska’s personality and the way she changes from the start of the book up until her death, also hinting at the idea that her death may not have been an accident. I’ve found the perfect person to play Alaska, my friend Taylor, she has the same vibe and essence I feel Alaska would have. In class I made a poster, planning out each slide of my pitch (see image below). This was really helpful as it helped me vision my pitch and make my idea clearer. I got feedback from my lecturer on my poster and my idea and he said it would be helpful to storyboard what I want my images to look like, so I will do this before my pitch next week.
