In class we did an exercise to help us generate ideas for our project. We were given an A3 piece of paper and we had to draw things on it to do with our personality, eventful dates in our lives, hero’s and important people to us etc. After this exercise my page was full of things (see image below) and I tired to get a few ideas from it. The main idea that has stuck out to me is my love for books. My initial idea was to bring iconic scenes of books to life. Since the lesson I’ve thought about it more and I think it would be good if I narrowed it down to one book, in particular “Looking for Alaska” as it was the first book I read that got me properly into reading. I want to bring stand out scenes from the book to life. I’m also considering using a film camera to give a vintage feel to my images but I need to look into this further. I’m really excited about this project as reading is something I’ve become very passionate about and this book is really important to me, I hope people will see this through my images.
